Something I only understood after leaving home
I left Morocco convinced I'd discover the world. Mostly I discovered that every city has one guy who insists his neighbourhood has the best bread, and that guy is always right, and in Marrakech that guy is me.
A thing I'm bad at and have made peace with
Small talk. I can run a room full of guests all evening and still have no idea how to answer "so what do you do" at a party. I've stopped trying. I just skip to the weird questions now and hope for the best.
