Safety
Strangers staying in each other's homes only works if you can trust who's on the other side. So trust isn't something we added on later. It's built into every part of how Adopted Adults works, from the moment someone signs up to the morning they head home. Here's exactly how we keep this community safe.
Every member scans a government ID and takes a liveness selfie through our partner, Didit. We keep only the pass result, never the document or the photo itself.
No stay is confirmed until you've met face to face on a video call. It's the best filter there is, and creeps rarely survive a live conversation with a real person.
After every stay, both sides review each other, and neither review shows until both are in. No retaliation, and no gaming a spotless profile the way bad actors do elsewhere.
Messages stay on Adopted Adults until a stay is confirmed. "Just text me here" is the oldest off-ramp there is, so we keep it switched off until your stay is locked in.
Any safety violation means immediate removal, no warnings. And because we verify identity, a banned person can't spin up a new account and quietly walk back in.
Everyone here has a home, a face, a verified ID, and a review history to protect. A community of hosts isn't anonymous or disposable, and that's the whole point.
Report or block any member in a single tap, any time, with local emergency info right there during a stay. Our team responds fast to every safety report we get.
Every stay ends with an honest review from both sides, and they can't be gamed. Before you ever meet, you get a real read on who you're dealing with, from people who actually stayed with them.
We are a bit picky with who we accept. This is the most rewarding, affordable way to travel, and we only want the greatest hosts in the world. Everyone must follow our golden rule: host how you want to be hosted.
